Tooth Extraction

When teeth are infected, decayed or broken, they may need to be extracted.

An extraction is the removal of a tooth. Maybe your tooth couldn’t be saved with a root canal, or maybe you are preparing for dentures or implants.

Our Dentists are trained for teeth extractions, while offering quality options to replace the missing tooth, and sometimes can replace them the same day we remove the tooth or teeth.

What should I expect during a tooth extraction?

A single tooth extraction is usually a short, simple procedure.

Once your dentist has determined you need teeth extracted, we will also discuss dental implants, bridges, partials or dentures to replace the missing teeth.

The extraction process begins with a local anesthetic to numb the area.  You will likely remain numb for a few hours after the procedure.

After the tooth is extracted, your dentist will pack the extraction site with gauze to limit the bleeding.  They will let you know how long you should leave the packing in, and any other instructions to aid in your recovery.

You may also be prescribed an antibiotic before and after your procedure to prevent any infection.

Cost of a Simple Dental Extraction

Smile Exchange is proud to offer pricing that is typically 40-50% less than most local dentists.

While your individual situation will vary, generally a simple tooth extraction is only $114 per tooth for members of our Patient Loyalty Plan.

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a permanent, natural-looking solution to replace an extracted tooth.

Dentures

If you are having many teeth extracted, full or partial dentures may be the solution to restore your smile. Ask your dentist if same-day dentures are an option after your extraction.
